Structural Integration Bodywork
Structural Integration builds the bridge between deep tissue/remedial massage, physiotherapy and osteopathy through postural assessment and intentional myofascial bodywork.
Articles:
SI (Structural Integration) is about the balance of the layers of tissues in the body and focuses on establishing an appropriate relationship between the superficial, middle and deep layers.
It gives the body more space and length. It also gives the client lift, lightness, more movement in the body and energy.
This type of deep tissue work is based on the work of Dr. Ida Rolf and further expanded by her student, Author of bestseller 'The Anatomy Trains' Thomas Myers. 'The Anatomy Trains SI approach is to free the binding and shortening in these connective tissues, what we refer to as the “fascial network”, and to re-educate the body in efficient and energy-sustaining (as opposed to energy-robbing) patterns.' -Tom Myers
The term "Anatomy Trains" indicates that there are specific anatomical fascial connections/continuities, between the different body regions. These "trains" run forward, back, sideways and across the body at different depths.
The classic Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) concept include 12 treatments, during which all these fascial continuities are processed to compensate for imbalances and resolve stress zones. The treatment of fascia up to its deepest layers is experienced as very deep and liberating.
It is particularly beneficial if you suffer from chronic pain, struggle to recover from injuries, don't feel 'at home' in your body, or are simply looking to improve your core-connection, overall posture, movement possibilities, -efficiency and -coordination.
On your first visit we'll have a detailed discussion regarding your health history and current goals for our work together.
We begin each session with a postural and movement assessment to know what is already working well in your body and to discover what to work on to make some positive changes.
Investment: AUD $145 / 75 minutes
